What is the ruling on donating bodily organs?

What is the ruling on donating bodily organs?

Saving of life is one of the greatest acts according to Islam. There is no impediment within Sharia that prevents a Muslim to donate his/her organs after death, and it may become necessary to donate if saving of life is contingent upon it. Furthermore, it is permissible for Muslims to donate organs to both Muslims and non-Muslims.
